A deeper dive into how these two established organizations operate on the ground, ensuring safety, accountability, and maximum impact for every dollar.
Small Team, Global Reach
If every large goal in life, every next milestone to reach could be accomplished through passion alone, The Joom Foundation’s mission to support the next generation of leaders across the world would be blown out of the water. But, regardless of how passionate our total of two staff members are, it really doesn’t beat the immense logistical infrastructure already in place with existing organizations. Which is exactly why The Joom Foundation supports children by sponsoring them through World Vision and Compassion International to achieve our purpose efficiently and effectively.
Two Complementary Solutions to fighting Poverty
The Joom Foundation, World Vision, and Compassion International, first and foremost, share one common goal that makes us confident in our collective vision: the ultimate Christian goal of demonstrating God’s love by releasing vulnerable children from poverty and injustice, allowing them to reach their full, God-given potential. However, each organization has their own methods for achieving their goals.
World Vision focuses on community-based development, also called Area Development Programs (ADPs). With these programs, World Vision aims to eliminate poverty by building healthy environments where children can grow up safe and successful. Donations and financial assistance given through child sponsorship is used to create large structural improvements in the child’s neighborhood such as, digging water wells, building schools, supplying medicine, and improving food security, to name a few.
Compassion International has a more individualized approach, where the focus is to release children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty in Jesus’ name. Funds given to Compassion through donations and financial assistance are used towards supporting a single child’s health, school fees, nutrition, and emotional growth from infancy until they reach adulthood.
This commitment that The Joom Foundation has with World Vision and Compassion ensures that children across the world in poverty can gain the support that they need. Both organizations share a foundational Christian commitment to serving every child with dignity, love, and compassion regardless of background.
Safety, Financial Integrity, and Strict Protection
Both organizations are also incredibly transparent about what happens with the funds given to them and are leading in financial transparency. In Compassion’s 2025 Accountability Report, 80% of funds went to program work through local church partners — including education, medical care, nutrition, child protection and sharing God’s love with children living in poverty and their families. The remaining 20% of funds were used towards administrative costs that keep the organization running sustainably.
World Vision is very similar, with 86% of funds go towards programs providing children with a variety of necessities, supplied as needed for each child. The remaining 14% of funds is split into 10% going towards fundraising while 4% goes towards management and general costs. All financial information regarding both organizations are clearly listed on their respective websites, if you would like to know more about their financial processes, please reach out to them or check out their websites!
